Make Science work for you at the University of Exeter

Many people dream about combining their passion with their job; at the University of Exeter we make this a reality.

With over 19,000 students and 4,300 members of staff (employed over 3 campuses), the opportunity to embark on a career that you are passionate about is available in a variety of non-academic roles.  While traditional academic roles still underpin what we do, we have an increasing requirement for talented and passionate people to support our academics in what are known as Technical roles.

World leading support roles

The reality of the requirements to join the University in a scientific role is often very different to the perception.  We need a team of talented individuals to support our teaching and research, and in training the next generation of top scientists.

Our technical roles which include experimental officers, laboratory technicians and research technicians all focus on different aspects of science - from mechanical/electrical engineering to cutting edge research, but all benefit from the same investment in science here at the University of Exeter.

Diversity of skills

The University of Exeter believes that the best teams are composed of a variety of experiences and we are therefore passionate about recruiting people from a diversity of backgrounds.

Our women in HE work extends the principles of the Athena SWAN Charter and the Gender Equality Charter Mark to all roles in the University.  At Exeter we are committed to bringing the best development experience to women at all stages of their careers as well as being passionate about promoting careers for women in science.  That is why we have invested in a range of initiatives, online resources, networking, training and mentoring opportunities to encourage women to reach their full potential.
